Thanks, so it is a "nothing" word :)
Here in Australia the term most commonly used is "bullshit"

I'd say that well over 50% of my OPs find their way back. Some even finish
the thread!

The MS-paid idiots are getting much better at not doing that.
Unfortunately, it looks like their current contract requires a post by one
of them in every thread within 24 hours of OP's first post...even if they're
repeating what someone else has already posted or something that has nothing
to do with OP's post (e.g., tips for Win7 when OP stated XP). <sigh>

Has anyone managed to get their hands on that contract? It's probably not very different from the one used over at windowslivehelp.com, where the moderator antics are unbelievable. I have countless threads like this:
OP: How do I do this?
Me: Like this.
[days or weeks later]
Mod: @OP: Do what Noel said.
@Noel: Thanks!
(There's no threading, so the @s are required.)
OK, that might convince the OP that the response is approved, but as few of them come back, we'll never know whether it helped - even though the mod's reply is marked as answer.

One of those responsible - Chris Jones, VP Windows Live Engineering - blogged about feedback a couple of days ago at
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_...ng-your-feedback-to-improve-windows-live.aspx
He may get more than he bargained for.

There is, but only by personal choice in "My Settings". And, most of the

Not at windowslivehelp.com, there isn't. No settings at all except language and time zone - and the time zone one's broken.

There is, but only by personal choice in "My Settings". And, most of the
MS paid idiots reply to someone that has already replied instead of the
OP.

But do they have a setting to change your email address for the alerts?
Nowhere I can see. If you want to change the email address for alert
delvery, you have to set up a new Live ID to log in with. Pfft...

They never showed up anywhere.

Yes, idiots is the word I was looking for.....

I also see the forums support only IE and Firefox...."Others may work,
but some features may not function as expected." After all this time,
MS still can't figure how to code web sites to "standards".....here
comes that word I was looking for again....

Well, in the same way that MS sets their own standards in trying to
force people to forums instead of newsgroups. MS sets their own
standards with web standards as well. They think they are big enough
that they can set the standards and everyone will have to follow them.
