Which is Safer, Windows, Apple or Linux regarding malware?

I think he is trying to say that once a person has heard that linux is
incompatible with this that and the other thing they stay away. Heck, you'd
probably even have to be editing your browser strings on linux.

God did exactly that. He provided us with people who were/are
intelligent enough to create Windows and Winsows apps for users who know
how to use a computer. For the rest he made sure Linux was around.
Windows and stuck the idiots with LinuX.

Oh I see now,
You post a 17 year old windows bug that was recently fixed and it requires a
post to this group.
I post a 16 year old apache bug that was recently fixed and your statement
is "next."

Whatever you post won't change the fact that, compared to Windows, Linux
is bulletproof.

Next?

Anyone that has used Linux for any length of time knows this. My Windows
boxes crash. Explorer.exe goes away. Something somewhere blue screens it.
It's what Windows does. My linux boxes have never crashed - not once. And
there are many of us out here in the real world that can report the same
results.

You want a cute desktop? Use Windows. You want a secure stable os? Use
linux.

My Windows

Mine don't.

Explorer.exe goes away.

Mine doesn't.

Something somewhere blue screens it.

Are you talking about Windows 7?

Mine don't.

Take yourself on over to any linux help group...then ask yourself why
all of those users are having all of those problems.
Well...?

And

There are millions of Window users just like me.

I have a very secure desktop OS...Windows 7.

Linux desktops can be cute, too. Windows Vista and 7 are poor imitations.

KDE4 is the poor imitation. Idiots - what were they thinking, let's make
KDE look like Vista? It's why so many people are sticking with 3.x

So what you are saying is that the majority of the people on the planet let
others make up their mind for them ?

I've never edited a broswer string.

I hate to shoot you down in your moment of perceived brilliance, (that's
not completely true), but did you even read that article ?

Or more importantly, did you read the full article that was linked in the
article you posted ?

Or the actual security bullitin from Sense of Security ?

Wait....don't do it yet.....

You do realize that Apache is a third-party program right ?

And that claiming this as a security issue against Linux itself would be
like claiming some security issue in AOL IM is a MS problem.....

What's really funny, and to me, makes you look not to bright...here's the
security bullitin from SoS......

Apache 2.2.14 mod_isapi Dangling Pointer

Sense of Security - Security Advisory - SOS-10-002 security advisory

Release Date. 5-Mar-2010
Last Update. -
Vendor Notification Date. 9-Feb-2010
Product. Apache HTTP Server
Platform. Microsoft Windows
Affected versions. 2.2.14 verified and
possibly others.
Severity Rating. High
Impact. System access
Attack Vector. Remote
Solution Status. Upgrade to 2.2.15 (as advised by
Apache)
CVE reference. CVE-2010-0425

So, what does it say is the platform this problem is with ?!?!?!?!

HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!!

So, now by your (il)logic that you have displayed, this *IS* an MS
problem, right ?

That doesn't matter. Security is security.

Your claim can not be proven until Linux numbers rise (and this can not
be disputed).

Neither do mine.

I only use Explorer as a file manager.

Take yourself to any Windows help group, then ask yourself why all of
those users are having those problems.

What's your point...you can't count posts here for problems with Windows
because your in a help group for people that *are* having problems, yet
people having problems with Linux and posting in a help group are
indicative that Linux as a whole is garbage ?

More great (hypocritical) logic.

I'm wondering, how does it 'look like Vista' ?

I mean, there's only so much you can do with a window'd GUI. And you can do
far more in Linux than Windows by way of customization. But what's your
beef...the Main Menu ?

Would you prefer removing the bottom panel and using Cairo Dock....then
what, it would look too much like OSX ?

Are you familiar with KDE 3.x and the changes made to KDE 4? Vista and
Windows 7 changed the start menu -> programs to restrict it to a small
retangular portion of the screen, instead of having your programs open up
across the desktop. I've found this makes it much more difficult to find
things in the start menu->programs, especiall if you have a lot of stuff
there. They did the same thing in KDE4. As a result, a lot of people have
either stuck with KDE 3.x, or moved to xfce.

I tried and didn't like KDE4. I much prefer Ubuntu Gnome. Beryl was out
long before Aero.
