was a plan on not doing backups......

......and actually it was stated that having the data on a
separate partition made it easier to backup the data, indicating
that regular backups *are* done.

I didn't 'dump' it, it was in my reply. I didn't address it.

I could see how if you have a *second physical HD* and use it
for data only, that it may not get corrupted like a system
drive would.

The data only drive would be accessed orders of magnitude less
than a system drive would be, and the access it did have would
be far more contiguous than a system drive jumping all over
everywhere. In theory it could have substantially less
problems.
