Sure you can do e-mail with that SHITTY Ubuntu.

> Surf the web

You can even surf the web with that SHITTY Ubuntu.

> Burn CDs.

It might take you awhile to get it right. Those Open Sores programs are
trying hard.

> Rip CDs.

Burn. Rip. Burn. Rip. You need to find the right Open Sores program
that MAY work or may not work.

> Listen to music.

That is what your IPOD is for.

> Watch vidoes/DVDs.

That is what your TV is for.

> Scan and print.

That is what your printer is for.

> Spreadsheets.

Maybe calculate a few numbers and align the numbers in the columns.

> Presentations

HA HA HA. Good luck. Nobody wants a presentation of Ubuntu. Oops.

> Newsgroups.

Alias is famous for using that SHITTY Ubuntu to access newsgroups to try and
get people to try Open Sores software.

> HTML editing.

Very basic editing.

> Games like Chess, Tetris, all kinds of solitaire, etc.

Ubuntu can't be used for real work so all you can do is play simple games.
For real games use a PC or XBOX or PS3 or Wii.

> Make videos.

That is what your video camera is for. For video editing, use Windows
solutions. Open Sores solutions will drive you "nucking futs".

> Download photos from a camera and organize them.

BFD. HA HA HA HA..

> Translations.

Ubuntu can't do that.

> Use a dictionary

Browse the web and you can find spelling. Ubuntu can't do that.

> Learn how to touch type.

That is what your keyboard is for! LOL!

> Edit images.

Very very simple edits. Maybe adjust brightness and contrast. Oops.

> Send and receive a fax.

That is what your fax/printer is for. Oops.

> Take screenshots.

Who the fuck would want to take a screenshot of Ubuntu? Oh, maybe the
spinning cube! LOL!

> Create .PDF files.

Maybe.

> Create and use a data base.

A simple database with maybe 100 entries.

I find Brasero to be superior to Nero or anything else Windows. Pop in a
blank CD or DVD and choose Burn and navigate to where you have the file
you want to burn. Gosh, is that too complicated for you?

Pop in a CD you want to rip and Brasero will ask you if you want to rip
it and you click on Yes. Too complicated for you?

Only superficial people like you think an Ipod is cool and gives you
some sort of status. Want to upgrade your Ipod? Buy a new one. I have my

speak.

I find it to be very easy. I open Cheese, click on Make a Video and make

Not only does it come with a program to translate, you can change the
language of the entire OS on the fly. NO version of Windows can do that.
All versions of Ubuntu can.

Ubuntu has a dictionary program that's excellent and much faster than
any web based dictionary but you would have to have run Ubuntu to know
that and you haven't.

No, you can use your computer with a data/fax modem. It saves a lot of

All versions of Windows since XP are unicode and MUI compliant.
So you can install either the native language OS or use a language pack.
For Native languages you have to install the OS in that language.
Language packs are for changing languages "on the fly."

so you find "brasero" superior to Nero? How about this:

Brasero was later integrated into GNOME and the version numbers were aligned
with GNOME desktop version numbering. Ars Technica reviewed Brasero 2.26,
then the newest version, in March 2009, saying:
[Brasero has] improved a bit since [2008] and has added support for video
and several other features. The project user interface, however, seems to
have worsened. They have gotten rid of the useful disc capacity meter at the
bottom and replaced it with a size indicator element that is displayed next
to each item in the file list.
They have also added a file filtering mechanism of some kind at the bottom
of the window. It isn't entirely clear to me what purpose it is supposed to
serve, but it seems like unnecessary clutter. I also strongly dislike the
superfluous file preview feature which wastes a lot of screen space in order
to display a playable video thumbnail. The preview feature is fortunately
easy to disable.
The whole programs feels uncharacteristically clunky by GNOME standards, but
it's a lot more functional than the stale and unambitious CD burning
component that was included in previous versions of GNOME. I think that
Brasero is the right way forward in the long term, but the user interface
really doesn't please me.
My biggest complaint with the old Nautilus CD burner is that it didn't give
you clear visual hints about how much space you have left when you are
putting in files to burn. The fact that Brasero dropped that feature is a
bit of a disappointment. It seems like the task of building a good disc
burning UI with GTK+ is not trivial and it's something that I suspect will
take a skilled designer rather than a developer.
Despite the problems with Brasero's interface, it's really a very capable
program with a rich feature set, which leaves me hopeful that it will be
able to really shine someday.[5]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the above snippit was taken from wikipedia on Brasero.

Oops. Seems like Brasero is still a bit "outdated". Nero's interface is
much better than this Open Sores piece of SHIT.

See above statement regarding that INFERIOR Open Sores software you find
"better" than Nero. Oops.

Oh so it comes with a PROGRAM to translate.... I'll bet you have to search

Oh... An open source dictionary program that is just like brasero? HA HA HA
HA. Probably lame at best. No wonder Ubuntu is rejected by most. Their
software choices are pretty poor. Just check out that shitty brasero. HA

GIMP doesn't hold a candle to Photoshop. Most would rather pay for

The language packs don't change the entire OS' language. With Ubuntu you
can do that and you can run multiple languages for different
applications. Only Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise can do that now, a
decade after Ubuntu could.

Because they aren't smart enough to use OpenOffice as effectively.
They need the pretty (-retarded) MSO interface, and all the
superfluous automation. In reality, OOo is just as capable, and far
superior in overall design - and much more suitable to a person with a
real mind.

Then again, we tend not to work in boring-ass office jobs, so our use
of OOo goes unnoticed in the "most businesses" world. Oh well. Let
them keep urinating their money toward the Seattle 'burbs, and I'll
just keep thinking they're dumb.

No you are wrong on several counts.
XP had MUI and unicode and supported language packs.
Vista and Win7 do the same, you just need to install the Ultimate and
Enterprise versions.
As a matter of fact I remember testing DBCS on NT4SP4 for Language packs..
Regarding Ubuntu having that for a decade...The first version of Ubuntu was
released in 2004 to the public. A mere 6 years ago...

Reading through some documentation for Ubuntu, I see nothing on how to run
multiple languages during 1 session (Different languages for open apps
during the same session.)
I would be interested in reading about that...can you please post a link.

HA HA HA HA - So everyone who differs with you, you call them ill informed.
Typical. Maybe they are smarter than you and your opinion is ill informed.
Oops.

You stick with Ubuntu and the rest of the working world will use what works:
Microsoft solutions.

From
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...7e8bdbe12db&displaylang=en#QuickInfoContainer

"Windows Vista Language Interface Pack (LIP) for Windows Vista provides
a partially translated version of the most widely used areas of Windows"

Windows 7 will only do it for Ultimate and Enterprise. From what I can
find, the LIP for XP is only for Internet Explorer.

So? And you didn't answer the question. Also this is a Win 7 ng, not Vista.

So?

From what I can

This is a Windows 7 ng, not XP nor Vista nor linux.

You are wrong about XP - Since you have never run one, I am not
urprised. -- I know all about this area of Windows because I ran one of the
test teams using MUI Language packs - The MUI language pack installs a
language on the OS. [1]
Since you apparently have never loaded one up you have not seen one in
action. In my EXPERIENCE, I haven't seen one that didn't include the almost
whole OS, the requirement was a minimum of 80% (most were closer to 100%.)

What I am most interested in is the link I asked for, let me repost that
section.
PLEASE SHOW ME A LINK WITH INFORMATION ON RUNNING MULTIPLE LANGUAGES ON
MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS IN ONE USER SESSION.

This lack of even trying to show me something that you say Ubuntu does makes
me believe that you know almost nothing about Ubuntu's workings, much less
anything about how Windows works. How about trying to prove some Ubuntu
expertise and tell me how to install multiple language packs per user
session so that I can use applications in 2 or more different languages in
the one session. Here's a clue -- I don't think it can do this. I think
you made it up. There is no documentation on this so called feature. I
don't think you've ever installed a MUI language pack in any OS. Please
prove me wrong.

I tried, got bored, and stopped. Do your own research. Insulting me will
get you nothing.
