Theme: Choices likely to accelerate, increase, and deepen (AID) learning now available to school administrators and boards.

FROM A LEARNERS’ VIEW (ALV) OF LEARNING, school board members and administrators have choices that will likely accelerate, increase, and deepen (AID) learning from teaching. These choices make it possible to meet the performance standard for educators of all students learning all lessons taught as implied by the great social commission of education. Arguably, other choices result in rationing of learning by students. Measure the extent of rationing by calculating the difference between fulfilling this standard and results of measured academic performance of students.

The major difference between available choices and actual choices indicates the relative priority ranking learning holds for school administrators and board members. Stated another way, rationing occurs through choices that resolve conflicts of interests with what is possible for educators to accomplish. These conflicts include such issues as union and political agendas as well as finances and personnel matters with which administrators and school board members address.
