President Obama: Weekly Address January 5, 2013

President Obama took time during his regular weekly address to restate that he “will not compromise” over his desire that Congress increase the federal debt limit. The nation’s credit rating was downgraded in 2011 after politicians could not come to an agreement.

“Our families and our businesses cannot afford that dangerous game again,” Obama said.

Updated: The Washington Post rated the Republican weekly address with two Pinocchios. The Republicans argued that they were responsible for the tax rate cuts, avoiding the fiscal cliff. Of course, this misstates that 67% of the vote in the House came from Democrats.
