Apple is right. The ad begins: “This is what we believe … technology alone is not enough.” Consumers around the world are going to respond to this message because it is true. Technology alone cannot solve the problems humans face. Technology is only a tool to help us reach our full potential and it is up to us to solve the problems.

This ad focuses on what interests consumers and not tech enthusiasts. Consumers care what a product can do for them; will it make their life better? More important, it’s magical when technology gets out of the way. Business Insider is correct, “While the competition chases after geeky things like hardware specs, Jobs believes Apple will win by chasing after software that delivers a better emotional experience.”
