AMD wins the 2014 Smart Commute “Employer of the Year” award

Eight days after Dr. Lisa Su took over as the AMD CEO, she announced the third quarter results and Wall Street was unhappy. AMD explained they would reduce the number of employees by 7% as it restructured and attempted to enter markets not dominated by Intel.

One month later, AMD is able to accept the 2014 Smart Commute “Employer of the Year” award for the York Region. Last year’s winner was PowerStream.

AMD started the Go Green Commuter program in 2007. According to an internal survey, 4 out of 10 employees use clean transportation to arrive to work.

About AMD

AMD has global operations in 31 countries, across more than 50 locations, including more than a dozen R&D facilities, nearly two dozen international sales offices and assembly/test manufacturing facilities in Asia.
