This article in TechNewsWorld.com is about the “$100 laptop,” but it also recognizes the growing success of Tablet PCs in education:
“New devices are making inroads in the educational market. The tablet PC, for instance, is finding traction on many college campuses, where the ability [to] handwrite notes makes it more versatile than the keyboard-only notebook.”
It’s not just colleges. In various emails and conversations I’m having with people I’m seeing strong Tablet adoption at all grade levels. Colleges are probably number 1, high schools second, followed by middle schools and now a growing early-education market.
