We picked up an HP 3550 color laser printer last week. We needed something for printing all those last minute brochures that are typical of a small business.
So far so good. The print quality is pretty good although grays are a little red. I assume I can adjust for the color shift by design or in the printer’s control panel.
The printer is large, but about 1/2 the size of the HP 4500 I’ve used in the past. The 4500 was a great printer–if a little noisy. You won’t want to sit by the 3550 when it’s in use or warming up, but it doesn’t make the big klunking sound that the 4500 was infamous for.
I’ll let you know how I feel about the print quality after a few weeks of use.
