Sony hasn’t joined the Tablet PC world yet, but is experimenting with some interesting product packages that would be great even among today’s Tablets:
EverNote (DEMOmobile ’04) announced that its handwriting recognition software has been bundled onto Sony’s new Vaio U Ultra Portable PC. The ritePen software for instant text input lets users navigate the tablet’s desktop, write on the full screen in smooth electronic ink, and automatically convert handwriting into text or other applications. The Ultra Portable PC is designed as a multimedia [DEMOLetter]
Sony has been resistant to producing a real Tablet PC but it’s good to see them bundle ritePen with the new U. ritePen is a very capable HWR program that works well on the small tablet form of the U.
