TeacherTube, launched in March 2007, is video-sharing site designed exclusively for educators. Created by a 14-year veteran educator (with technical help from family members), the site aims to “fill a need for a more educationally focused, safe venue for teachers, schools, and home learners.”
Our goal is to provide an online community for sharing instructional videos. We seek to fill a need for a more educationally focused, safe venue for teachers, schools, and home learners. It is a site to provide anytime, anywhere professional development with teachers teaching teachers. As well, it is a site where teachers can post videos designed for students to view in order to learn a concept or skill.
TeacherTube was the idea of Jason Smith, a 14-year veteran educator. Jason has been a teacher, coach, campus administrator and district administrator in public schools.
Videos currently on the site include specific lessons, class projects, demonstrations of unique instructional approaches, and expressions of educational philosophy.
Thanks, Jason and family for creating and maintaining this site. That’s a huge undertaking and noble enterprise. You serve an important role in extending learning beyond the confines of the best educational buildings and preset schedules.
