Michael Arrington blogs on TechCrunch about the most recent Web 2.0 businesses to offer themselves up for sale on eBay.
Kiko, an Ajax-based calendaring application sold for the most so far. The winning bid? $258,100. Michael has a great podcast interview with the new proud owner of Kiko, Tucows. Sounds like there was plenty of drama in the bidding process. In the last few minutes, the bidding escalated by almost $170,000. Interestingly, Tucows’ decision to purchase Kiko was a “sudden” decision and they thought about purchasing the company only after hearing about the auction. Tucows CEO Elliot Noss hadn’t even heard of Kiko until the auction itself. (Om Malik has some more details on the sale here.)
