Yahoo Mail adding RSS feed support: More readers will make OPML more valuable

Seems like every 15 minutes someone is adding RSS support to something. This time around Yahoo’s 15 minutes is up. They are adding RSS feeds to their email client. It’s in Beta now so no reason to rush over to your Yahoo account to see what it’s like. In the meantime SearchEngineJournal has some good first-hand accounts.

This all makes me think: With more and more RSS readers it’s going to be even more important to move lists of feeds around. I didn’t seen any mention of OPML support in SearchEngineJournal’s blog post. Not surprising. OPML support wouldn’t be the first think I’d think of checking for in a new product. However, if Yahoo wants me to really spend time using their RSS support, OPML support has to be there.
