Dez Bryant Denied Catch Is Not Why the Cowboys Lost

The Green Bay Packers are moving forward in the NFL Playoffs after defeating the Dallas Cowboys 26-21. Two consecutive games for the Cowboys were marked by controversy.

Fan or no fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Dez Bryant’s catch or noncatch kicked up a stir today. You can watch the play on the NFL website and decide for yourself.

The above image clearly shows Dez Bryant was not in control of the ball after he touched the ground.

If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.
