Dimension 2 of The Instruction Cube (TIC) describes two choices for lesson planners and instructors: whether to give priority (2a) to descriptions of the content or (2b) to discussions about the content in each lesson.
Descriptions of a lesson identify how learners meet a preestablished criterion for vocabulary and for the logic to use vocabulary to meet criterion.
Discussions about a lesson include explanations, opinions, and reasons for the criterion and for steps to take to meet it.
