Very little history is saving

I noticed since upgrading to IE8 my history is only a fraction of where I
actually have gone. Just yesterday I did some searches on things like
craigslist for campers and other tools, did numberous google searchs and
visited the pages on at least several dozen web sites and yet my history
only shows a hand full of sites and a couple of the pages. Mostly it
appears to be if I hand typed in the web site in the Address bar

In IE 6 checking history would show pretty much every page I visited.

Hi,
Windows XP?

You're looking at History in the History tab of the Favorites Center, right?
That's the gold start on the left side of the IE toolbar.
Also accessible by hitting Ctrl+h.
Does a different view (view by date, view by site, etc.) show any more
pages?

Yes,

I did about 50 google searches today and went to least 200 sites for a
variety of differnet pieces of research and all I see is about a dozen
domains listed. The only thing in Google's group is the home page when I
"View by Date"

BUT, when I change it to "View By Site" it seems to be a lot more in there
and all the specific stuff like search result links, etc.

Well it would be nice to have it organized by date and have that detail, but
I will take this.

Hi,
1. Is the Google toolbar installed?
2. From the (IE) Search Box> Manage search providers, disable search
suggestions for Google. See if that makes a difference.
3. Try clearing the History then set "Days to keep pages in History" to no
more than 30.
