Thanks again for your assistance. Obviously you are experienced with
computers and very confident about this. However I checked in the
Accessories folder as suggested and in my computer it is empty. In a
"Search" for Wordpad however it came up with 18 references for Wordpad in
C
1386 that used 4 different file names: EX_file, IN-file, CH_ and HL_ I
was unable to open any of them. I have noticed before that Hewlett Packard
load their programs like Windows XP Home on computers not necessarily
identical to the original. I noticed in the Windows file association
website that there are several free download programs to open assorted
files. As I am not a computer wizard the question is do I need to go through
this procedure plus other possible problems hoping I'll be successful just
to confirm a particular Wordpad version?
Perhaps I should go with the Windows Update indication that KB923561 was
installed successfully.
