Hi,
Running XP SP3. I use AVG Anti-Virus and also manually scan with
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Super Anti-Malware.
I just installed IE version 8 on this machine. Was previously using
version 6 (with updates).
I used to use Norton Anti-Virus a year or 2 ago.
This is on a second computer that I don't use much anymore. I use it
for web site updates & occasional other things because that's where my
software and files are.
In fairness (now that I'm not in such a foul mood), on my usual
computer I generally use Firefox, however earlier this evening I used
IE8 and do not get the same frequency (or any noticable) Information
Bar pop-ups. This obviously singles out the second computer as having
a setting, or something, awry somewhere. Now that I've narrowed it to
the computer I can tackle the situation in a more level headed
fashion.
Thing is, I've grown so accustomed to having to disable default
settings after a Microsoft 'default' installation that it was easy to
jump to conclusions that this was yet another thing I didn't want &
didn't need.
Still; if you do have any tips I'd appreciate it.
Thanks much,
Keith
