Scientists from England, Belgium, and Denmark developed XNA - xenonucleic acids. These are nucleic acids in which the sugars of DNA have been replaced. Next they were able to replicate the XNA in a test tube. The study may lead to designer drugs.

Fantastic development! I like the idea of substituting laboratory findings for speculation and what-if's.

On the other hand, I see even more people being left aside when such developments occur, because they do not have the background to benefit from the process.
