I wrote about this before. Just get up a Windows Explorer screen, arrange it
in the sort order you want whether by name, by creation date, by Date
Modified Date whatever. You do this in detailed view by clicking the
headers.
Once you have got it as you would like it go to...
Tools > Folder Options > View and...
Click the box for Remember Each Folder's View settings
Click OKy OR if you want that view to apply to all settings Click Apply to
All Folders.
IF you click Apply that view to All Folders, any folder you open from then
on will be displayed in that view, i.e. In Alphabetic order, in Create Date
order or whatever. OR conversely if you just click OK without Applying that
view TO ALL FOLDERS, then only that folder will be displayed in that
fashion.
Elsewhere I had written about how to add these details (columns) to the
Windows Explorer views. I wouldn't bother trying to create a view order by
clicking the individual columns (details) right when choosing them though.
Choose the details first and then just drag the various details (columns) to
where you want them to appear. For example I want the Attributes column on
the leftmost side. Just make sure that you click Apply to All folders button
so that all folders will show a similar display.
IF you want a particular folder to be displayed in a different manner then
go to that folder and apply a different view. Just make sure that the
Remember Each Folder's View is clicked. I can assure you that whenever you
go to that folder you will get that particular view.
And this is easier done than said, to turn an expression on its head. It
sounds more complex when reading about how to do it. But do it just once
(and DO use your head, for heaven's sake) you will understand how the system
works.
And remember, above all USE YOUR HEAD!!!
