problem with C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\std.tff

While installing a chess game (chesspartner 5.3) installation hangs when
deal with CWINDOWS\Fonts\std.tff
Have you any hints? I even tryed to delete std.ff from CWINDOWS\Fonts and
repeat the installation but with no result.
For sure I have installed it already and correctly some years ago and in the
same system. Probably in the meanwhile I have done only few windows upgrade.

A Google search netted this suggested fix:

"The installation hangs halfway while installing Std.ttf. This is on
Windows 2000 and also on XP, what's up?
There appears to be a problem with the installer. Workaround is to
reboot, then delete the _Traveler_Standard_font_ using the font applet
from the control panel, then reboot and reinstall."

Is WinXP SP3 installed and is the computer fully patched at Windows Update?

Ty all, I solved looking at the game FAQ as you suggest me.
I tried deleting std.tff and reinstall the game but not played, reboot was
needed as written in the FAQ
