Opening AOL "Favorite Places.pfc" file in IE8

I have a current version of my AOL 9.1SE Favorite Places stored on my hard
drive as file: Favorite Places.pfc (Personal File Cabinet, about 135 K8).
How do I get IE8 to import and recognize this file as an IE8 favorites list?
Seems that IE8 wants a file named bookmarks.html. I can't get AOL 9.1SE to
give me "My Favorites" in a .html file format, just the .pfc format. Is
there a converter available?

Comment: I think AOL is deliberately trying to make things difficult for
non-paying users of AOL 9.1SE. Their software and service sucks! No
technical help is available for non-paying users. After I get my favorites
list transfered to IE8 (Charter.net) it's adios to AOL.

I don't know of any "converter" program for AOL Personal Filing Cabinet
(PFC) files.

There is a utility called "PFCEx 1.00" that can be used to extract
information from .pfc files, you can google for it.

The only method I'm aware of for accomplishing the task you are trying to
perform is detailed in the following AOL support page:

Transfer your Favorite Places to another program:

Good luck,

Thanks. Tried the utility PFCEx 1.00 and had some luck. It extracted the
URLs from the .pfc file but couldn't recover the "Places Description"
information.

You're welcome, and thanks for the feedback. Sorry I don't have anything
else to offer.

Good luck,
