Newly Re-Elected Republican Congressman Michael Grimm Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion

Congressman Michael Grimm (R - NY) turned himself over to authorities and entered a guilty plea to tax evasion in federal court today. He was indicted in April, 2014 on 20-counts. Sentencing will be June 8, 2015.

Prosecutors, FBI, and IRS agents are seeking a two year prison term. The House Ethics Committee has not investigated the allegations against Mr. Grimm but the Congressman stated he would not resign from Congress.
