Pick any field ... awards are given out.
They mean nothing.
If you are around long enough, you are bound to get one.
I pick the employee of the month with a dart throw.
If enough people aren't getting them, usually more agencies are created to
give them out.

When Paul octopussy predicts it 10 years running ... then you will have
something.
People sometimes guess the Superbowl winner pre-season.
There are usually only 3 or 4 actual contenders, so it's not that hard.
But, stats on sports betters predictions show that a monkey is about as
good.

Uh.. How is raking in money hand over fist on the Xbox360 missing the
boat? It's beat the PS3. And it would have beaten the Wii if not for
millions of casual nobodies buying it for novelty and a bowling game
that they tire of within a day. Well, that and obese slobs getting one
because they're too afraid of jiggling on down to the gym. Let me guess
your response: "RROD HUZZAH!" Yeah, if you bought a launch unit or are
one of those tools that sits it on a carpet with no ventilation. And as
for the launch units, it was brand new then. All new technology has
issues at first. (Forgotten the PS2 disk drive drama?) And for the
record, skippy, my launch unit has never had an issue. My elite doesn't
have an issue. And my brand new finger print magnet 360 is just fine as
well.

And unless you've been living under a rock, Win mobile 7 has been having
it's ass kissed by pretty much every reviewer out there, and is a very
solid mobile OS. And it's not just one phone on one carrier. Like
another little phone we all know.

P.S. I have a ZuneHD. It's just as good as a touch, without having me
fork over money to a cult of pretentious hipster wannabes that shove
their heads between their legs and sniff their own farts ALA South Park.

One last thing, Captain Knee Abrasions...

Before you call me a Wintard or a sheep, check the headers. I run Linux.
And a hell of a lot better than you do.

Go play with your craptastic KDE eye candy or something and leave real
Linux programming for the adults.

As for Windows 7.. It's just fine. I hated XP, hated Vista more, even
though it was not this ungodly menace that everyone (Apple shills) made
it out to be. But Windows 7 is a fine OS. And this is from a die hard
Linux user.

So don't think you represent some kind of large and growing group of
people that in the end will crush Microsoft. You're not. You're just a
buzzing little boy on the internet begging for some attention. You sure
don't represent most Linux users, and you SURE as hell don't represent
me. Go harass some MacFags, I'm sure they're willing to fellate you.

Where I am we are seeing iPads come in by the droves. And I hear for
under $100 in India they are working on mass producing a competative
product running Linux. The whole thing will be priced less than Windows
7. Some pretty cheap as in a few $ processors are coming out that can
run Linux like a charm but really can't run Microsoft bloatware very well.

Fired up Win 7 the other week to see if MS had fixed the disk and
network I/O problems. No joy.

Microsoft is passing its peek.

http://www.next-gen.biz/news/xbox-division-boosts-annual-profits

".......While annual revenue remained flat at $8.058 billion, profit leapt 529 per cent to
$679 million in the fiscal year ended June 30. That\u2019s despite full-year Xbox 360
shipments falling eight per cent to 10.3 million units.

EDD revenue was nearly flat reflecting increased revenue from the non-gaming portion
of the business, partially offset by decreased revenue from Xbox 360 platform and PC
games,\u201d Microsoft said in a statement. "Non-gaming revenue increased $35
million or 1% primarily reflecting increased sales of Windows Embedded device
platforms, offset in part by decreased Zune and Windows Mobile revenue. Xbox 360
platform and PC game revenue decreased $12 million, primarily reflecting a reduction
in Xbox 360 consoles sold and revenue per console, offset in part by increased Xbox
Live revenue."

That's a bit confusing, but end's with a gaming revenue down $12 milllion based on
reduced sales of XBox stuff.

It did, but only by a huge margin.

But it didn't. And apparently Wii sales are nearing double of both PS2 and XBox.

My response would be....that's a pretty lame justification attempt.

Well....the reviews are mixed, and since it's not out yet, no one really knows, and
apparently, many see it MS's last chance to *really* break into the phone OS market.

I couldn't care less however. I make phone calls on my cell phone. That's it.

Why do you lie? The more I use Windows 7, the more shit I see that they
pilfered from Linux. Course, in the States, not many people are using
Linux but AOL was a great success there too and look at the dumb fuck
Bush Americans elected twice. AOL didn't even make it out the fucking
door here. Only the UK and Germany fell for that crap.

What did they pilfer from Linux?
Ya know, there are only so many GUI options, things that seem "similar" are
nothing more than that.
And, that wouldn't be like "linux" anyway, but like KDE, or Gnome, or
whatever DE.
With compiz, you can make it snow.
They stole that from mother nature.
Same with the rain.
Compiz didn't invent windshield wipers neither.

If you have to ask, you'll never know. I bet you had AOL, didn't you?

Back in the day...for about 3 months.
Back then, if you said something offensive, not only did you get kicked, you
got disconnected.
LOL.
I went to Earthlink after that.

On Usenet? I recall AOLers being just as disgusting as Frank and even
worse. Perhaps, you mean the private AOL forums. I wouldn't know about
them as I never saw any reason to tether my computer to AOL. Here it was
available as an AOL machine and the banks tried, quite unsuccessfully,
to sell them. Then they tried to rent you the AOL program and you could
keep your current ISP but that flopped as well. Linux is doing much
better outside the point and click USA. All the "netstats" quoted here
are USA web sites. Well, duh! If the Chinese are forced to pay US prices
for Windows, how many will check out the alternatives?
