I use Windows XP Pro, Windows Media 11, & my questions relate to music files.
I buy some files on www & some I copy from discs. I want to store my music on
an external storage device connected to my home computer & play it on a
Creative brand player.
Are there any articles available that describe the best way to manage this
arrangement? I am sure I am not managing this arrangement efficiently now.
Files appear to download automatically to my internal fixed storage C; I add
them to my Windows Media Player library; add them to a playlist in WMP; copy
files from C to external storage; synch my player; delete files from C.
Then I find evidence that I don't know what I am doing: duplicate files show
in the WMP Library, & some do not show at all in external storage.
I want to use storage carefully; duplicates waste space. I want to keep the
items I pay for & not lose them accidentally. I do not want to waste time
struggling with this process; it takes more time than I want to spend since I
moved my music files to external storage.
