IE version 8, bug in close current tab functionality

I am running IE version 8 on WinXP. I am reporting an issue with the current
tab funtionaliy. When I close the IE browser, I get a popup to close all tabs
or the current tab. By clicking the current tab the browser gets closed
instead of closing the current tab. So basically, close all tabs and current
tab are functioning the same way. I am surprised it was not detected in your
product testing.

Hi,
I'v never seen anopther report of this. See if a browser add-on is causing
this problem on your computer.

Start Internet Explorer without add-ons by right-clicking the IE icon on the
desktop. Choose Start without add-ons.
or
from Start> Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no
add-ons)
If the problem goes away, you have an incompatible browser add-on installed.

For troubleshooting information see:

Just tested with IE8 on XP SP3 here, works as expected - clicking Close
Current Tab only the currently active tab is closed, not the entire browser.
As Don suggests, you may well have a 3rd party add-on loaded that is
overriding the close tab handling. Do you have IE7Pro installed, for
instance?
