I lost 3 notebooks in resetting 'my documents' location.

I moved my the location of my documents from the default on C to a separate
physical disk, D. This followed reinstallation of W XP due to a drive
failure on C. D had been the default location in the prior configuration.

I reloaded the OS and several programs, including office (including OneNote)
I made some notebooks, and then realized I needed to use the my documents on
D.

When I went through the procedure, the direct 'my documents' to the files on
D, the 3 notebooks I had set up and used were no longer available in OneNote.
The MyDocuments that had been on C disappeared, and apparently all the files
with it.

Are my OneNote notebooks now permanently gone or have then been hidden
somewhere else? I looked in the trash, but didn't see them.
One other detail: I made a new note book and saw in the 'save' step that
OneNote was putting the file onto D, into a OneNote folder. That folder is
not visible in Windows Explorer. Is it a hidden file? Where is it really?

If there's a technical note on OneNote file handling, I'd be glad to be
pointed in its direction.

Thanks

They should still be located in
C:/Documents and Settings\<your username>\My Documents\OneNote Notebooks
as one folder per notebook with the name of the notebook.

They should be located in "My Documents"\OneNote Notebooks
as one folder per notebook with the name of the notebook.
