How figure out what color numbers to use for logo color?

I know there's a way to figure out which color numbers (RED/GREEN/BLUE)
represent a certain color. I have a logo and want to figure out what the
color number(s) are for a particular color used in the logo.

I can't remember how to accomplish this.

Thank you.

Look in Custom colors in what ever application you are using.

I forget how to GET TO the specific color WITHIN the logo...

I set the jpeg image within Word to have SQUARE wrapping (don't even know if
I needed to do this). But, I can't get to the color IN the logo as it's all
one picture.

Thank you.

Download and run Pixie from http://www.nattyware.com/?m31. Run the program
and then put the cursor of the mouse on the color you want the RGB number
for. I have used this excellent free program for years now and it works for
me every time.

You would have to "match" the existing color by eye. If you want to
"click" on a point and have the "numbers" appear, you will need to use a
3rd party software as LVTravel says.

Hi tjsmags,

Here's a simple way:
1. Copy/open the logo in MS Paint
2. Click on the eye dropper (pick color)
3. Click on the color you want to test
4. Select Colors|Edit Colors|Define Custom Colors and note the RGB values.
