Halo crashing windows

Flightless Bird
Why is Halo crashing Windows not more then twice a day. Yes I get the
blue screen. No reasons stated in the blue screen.

Ask in the Halo forums. If it's a common occurrence, maybe they've found a
solution, or developed a patch. If Windows runs well otherwise, it's
obviously a glitch in Halo.
Do you have auto-reboot set for when you get a blue screen? If so, disable
it. Go to Control Panel, System, click on the Advanced tab, Startup and
Recovery Settings. Near the bottom of that window, remove the check mark
next to Automatically Restart. The next time you get a BSOD playing Halo,
write down the information before rebooting your PC.

Did you yet apply any patches to the unidentified games in the Halo
*series*?

Did you yet try installing the latest driver for your video and sound
cards/devices? Sometimes the latest driver version is NOT best for an
old game. You may have to walk through installing several different
versions to find the one that is most compatible with the majority of
your applications.

Have you yet tried rebooting into Windows' Safe Mode and retested?
Maybe you leave other programs running in the background that interfere
with the stability of Halo (but then games are the best examples of the
worst code regarding stability, compatibility, and graceful error
recovery).

I could run only the minimum processes and it still does it.

Halo Combat Evolved is the only game for the PC

In that example, the file name on the end of the line is video card driver
related.

You need to get the BSOD to stand still, so you can record the information.
To do that -

Control Panels:System:Advanced:Startup and Recovery:untick Automatically restart

and then the computer won't immediately start rebooting.

Are you using a relatively recent driver ? A relatively recent version
of DirectX ? Perhaps they've been patched, to solve some of the
problems. Even the game itself could have a patch. You'd need
to find a forum that discusses Halo: Combat Evolved, to get more details on that.
