CoolJoeGirl, you said
"My advice is to make sure you remove EVERYTHING you can find
on your system that says Google (except Gmail) or you may never get rid
of it..."
Good advice! Several years ago Microsoft was regularly accused of trying to
"take over the world". Today, Google's tentacles reach out everywhere and
make MS look like benign pikers.
I still use Google as my search engine, and Google Earth but constantly
fight off Google's efforts to get into every nook and cranny of my computer.
Beware, they are relentless.

Hi Brian..Had a similar Google problem and believe me, I empathize!
Unfortunately I have to blame myself. I have Gmail and like it so much,
thought making Google my home page was a good idea. *NOT !!! * When I
tried to get rid of it, Google still grabbed my address bar which
prompted a battle between my IE browser and Google which repeatedly
redirectd it until I just gave up an closed my internet connection! It
was wild. My advice is to make sure you remove EVERYTHING you can find
on your system that says Google (except Gmail) or you may never get rid
of it...Hope your problem is already solved..Good Luck
