Download OneNote 2007?

Hi, I have an OEM license of OneNote that came with my tablet PC (Vista
Ultimate 32 bit). It did not come with a OneNote disk but rather a paper with
the license key on it. Where can I download just the OneNote program so that
I can use this key to activate it. I am replacing the hard drive with one
that has more capacity and am trying to get all of my installation files
ready for the switchover. When I go to the Microsoft site and click the
button that says I can have a 60 day trial, it comes back and says "no
products were found".

I think Microsoft may have removed the OneNote 2007 trial from their site
completely. So, how can I go about getting it now? That seems a little
pre-mature to remove it before OneNote 10 is out of Beta and even if it were,
people should still be able to download the 2007 version. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Right.
The link for a Trial -download on the website leads to the announcement:

The Microsoft® Office 2007 trial is not currently available.
You can download the Microsoft® Office 2010 Beta for free!
Office 2010 offers rich and powerful ways to deliver your best
work at office, home, or school.
<<<<<

The latter suggestion is what I would have suggested anyway.

No way, AFAICS.

I take the liberty to disagree.
I have been using the ON2010 "Technology Review" since last July.
It was that stable already that I uses it "for production" (my
day-to-day work where ON is one of the main instruments). No real
problem occurred during the period if mire than half a year.
And meanwhile bugs have been removed and the BETA is more reliable than
many MS applications before sold as "finals".
(Do you "Remember" the characterization as "Bananasoft"?
Cropped too early, delivered green, let it ripe at the client's site)

Don't hesitate, download the Office Beta and install ON (you may leave
out the rest).
You can trust the current version. Otherwise MS would not yet recommend
it.
The new version has to offer far more than the old one. And you will get
right on track instead if later having new learning curve.

What for?
I can't see no use in using the old version.

But if you are really after that, contact MS. This would be the only
way. We fellow-users in this peer-to-peer forum where volunteers try to
help others can not do anything for you in so far.

Maybe I am missing something but if I already have OneNote 2007 bought and
paid for, why would I install ON10? Are they giving the final software away
for free or something? Don't those betas expire at some point when the full
version is released, at which point I would need to pay for the new version?
I generally don't make a practice of putting beta software on my main
computer although I occasionally make exceptions.

Also, I don't see the same message you see when you click on the 60 day
trial link for ON2007. My message says "No products were found. For
information on search syntax, see search tips." I don't get any message about
ON10 at all.

Sorry, Steve,
I made a mistake: When replying to your second posting I had overlooked
that in your initial posting you had said that ON had bee pre-installed
on your computer when you bought it.
This is a rather strange situation <!>: On most computers ON (as other
Office apps) normally is pre-installed only as a "trial", not a
*fully*licensed* version.

What makes me wonder: Haven't you got "recovery media" (CDs/DVDs) and/or
a "Recovery Partition" where from you might create the media needed for
a system restore?

You are right in that the Beta will expire sometime in late 2010 and
that you would then have to acquire a licence.
I'm sure, however, that - being used to the new version - you'd be
willing to pay for the licence. The new version really has to offer far
too much for being left out.
BTW: Different from the past, with Office 2010 ON will be included in
the standard Office editions.

Anyway:
You may be angry as angry could be.
You may shout as loud as you can.
However, none of us fellow-users would be able to do anything for you.

As said: Contact MS. Ask them for a CD.

Good luck!

Rainald

Oh don't worry, no anger here (even if my post comes across that way. You
never can tell in text). Ya, it was pre-installed on my tablet. I do have
some recovery media except that I am going to install Windows 7 and not use
the recovery disks (fresh install, not upgrade). I will contact MS and see if
I can get a disk or if they can somehow send me a link that actually lets me
download it. Since I do have a valid license, I would surely hope they would
be willing to do that. Thanks for your input.

I would probably try to uninstall all Office 2007 installs, then install from
your purchased disk and it should work just fine.
