Do you use Internet Explorer?

Who pays for these dam things?

Certainly i am using IE and will continue to use it.

Still better than having Google's Chrome install automatically
with every second piece of softrare...

This browser war is for me complete nonsense.

If it really is possible to attack computers from outside,
you do not need a browser to acheive that!

What?

IE is a Windows component, but threads involving some linux fans always
turn into name calling and garbage of that sort which has nothing to do
with Windows7 or IE8.

Question : Are you able to run IE7 in Win7? the reason I ask is because
Win7 installs IE8 by default and I didn't try to install IE7 (and I don't
plan to).

You are absolutely right, no users should ever be informed of *any*
possible security issues in their OS of choice.

All users should immediately stick their heads in the sand and believe
absolutely everything is bulletproof.

That is *exactly* what the original post of this thread was
about....Windows and IE. As a Windows user, as well as a Linux user, it's
nice to know what going on with the OS, potential problems and all. If
that link hadn't have been posted, I wouldn't have had any idea about the
issue. It's a moot point anyway, as I've been using FF for years, but
it's still nice to know. My guess is that very few (%-wise of the
worldwide user-base) are aware of the details of any one vulnerability.
98% probably just know & use the buzzwords related to security.

The majority of people don't want to 'read' about Win7. There are people
here to help others, and people the that need help, and 'trolls'. Maybe
some are here just to learn, but a minority.

You're right, but, and honestly, who turns it into that ? You can tell
sometimes, when somewhere along the thread, the subject line changes.
Some had said that some of Alias' posts don't belong here, and it's, this
is a good one, illogical for him to be posting here, since this is a
Windows group, it should be in the advocacy groups.....

......but if you think about it, it's quite to the contrary. That *is* the
logical thing to do, if for some reason you want to spread the word about
Linux. Wouldn't you go to a group that isn't a Linux group, where people
may not have heard of Linux, or maybe have, but haven't even looked at it
at all ?.....

......You might get them to at least try a live CD, and even if they don't
install it, or ever use it again, so be it. At least they looked and made
the decision for themselves. Why would you go to an advocacy group filled
with a bunch of total zealots on both sides of the fence, or to a Linux
group where everyone already is using it.

Apparently, you can only run IE7 under WinXP Compatibility mode under
Windows7.

As I said though, moot point.

You mean if you want to spam and troll in a Windows ng.

Yeah, ever noticed that cody is the only linux spammer in this and the
Vista ng?
Ever noticed how much bullshit noise and disruption he creates? Now
please tells just how many linux "converts" do you think that POS
has convinced to switch to that worthless toy os by his spamming and
linux trolling in these Windows ng's huh?

How limited must your life and imagination be to post nonsence every

Sounds like a mental case to me.

No, I assume the opposite. I've dealt with many people who have trashed
their computers with malware and most do NOT know how to configure
*anything* which is why the Internet would be safer without Windows.
