Is it possible to export mail folders and messages from Live Mail into
Outlook Express? I can find loads of instructions on doing it the other way
round, but I need to copy some recent messages from my new Win7 PC to a
    backup machine running XP Pro.

    Many thanks.

Why not just install WLM on the XP machine? After all OE is no longer
    supported by Microsoft.

Create a few folders on the Win7 Desktop. Drag and copy the WLMail
messages to these folders. Put them on the Desktop of the XP machine and
then drag the messages into user created OE folders.
