activation question

Apparently I had a bootleg copy of office 2007. I started getting the message
with the count down before my version of office would be mark as not genuine.
So thru my work, I was able to buy a LEGAL, yes legal copy of Office 2007
Enterprise thru Microsoft for cheap. I installed it , but I’m still getting
the above warning message. If I try to activate it again, office tells me
that my copy of office has already been activated. I’ve emailed Microsoft of
this problem and a copy of the email from Microsoft of the purchase. I
haven’t heard back. And there is no way I’m going to pay for their tech
support to solve this problem since I am a legal registered owner of Office.

I really don't want to unistall and reinstall office in fears of losing my
contacts and settings in outlook.

So what do I do now?

Before you installed the new one, did you completely uninstall the bootleg
copy?

Did you completely uninstall the pirated version and the Activation Assistant before
embarking on installing the Office Enterprise that you purchased through the HUP
