Bob Henderson sent this link to me, titled Did You Know? It’s relevant to incumbant and in-preparation educators as well as board of education members, especially for anyone who thinks, “I have responsibility for someone else’s learning.”
It is a 5-minute presentation that was shown by the CEO of Lockheed-Martin at a recent management meeting. He used it to illustrate how the company must radically change over the next few years.
It also illustrates a challenge teachers already have in handling technical information changes in order to assist our students to live a lifestyle they choose.
I can’t independently, with authority verify these data presented on these slides. They appear consistent with research and other reports I’ve read over the past several decades about the increasingly changing (yes, that’s compounded increases) context of education.
A friend sent the link to Bob. Bob uses information shared in these slides as part of his background for addressing changes in teacher preparation and related research.
I already have a use for this slide package. Perhaps you will too. Let us know what you think about the slides and what you do with the information.
