British press find Blair’s…uh…Gates’ doodles

The British press is all over a page of doodles found on a desk–that they thought were of Tony Blair’s, but actually were penned by Bill Gates. Either way, it didn’t take long for them to bring in the handwriting analysts.

Here’s a Times London articlewith a copy of the doodles–that ran last Friday when the common wisdom was that Tony Blair had scribbled the page.

And here’s a follow up Times London article that expressed great concern because although the handwriting had features of an “artistic and creative person” it didn’t look like Tony Blair’s handwriting at all. Something must be wrong.

Of course, there was a problem. As this later article points out, it wasn’t Blair’s doodles at all, but Bill Gates’.

Makes me think: Too bad Tony Blair and Gates hadn’t been scribbling on Tablet PCs. It would have led to a lot of wild press coverage for the mighty little platform :-).
