Mobile / Tablet PC School: Cathedral Preparatory School

Students and faculty of Cathedral Preparatory School continue using Tablet PCs. Educators at other schools considering using Tablet PCs or Ultra Mobile PCs may want to add CPS’s FAQ to their reference list.

Teachers have utilized the capabilities of each student having a computer by electronically giving tests, collecting homework, and corresponding about classroom topics. The students participate in on-line web presentations, watch streaming media on classroom topics, and do research right from their desks.

Each incoming Freshman is is issued a Tablet PC owned by the school and is required to attend a Tablet Literacy class. The class provides instruction on basic and advanced uses of the Tablet PC, as well as “proper and moral computing practices.”

Kudos! These are exciting times for novice and master learners willing to figure out how to extend learning by using advanced technologies such as Tablet PCs.
