Kansas School Board Redefines Science

Heads up, software developers interested in selling your science products to Kansas schools. The conventional scientist’s job description may no longer apply in Kansas. Thus, your software may no longer be useful to meet the new Kansas standard. Steven Weinberg, a physicist and Nobel laureate at the University of Texas, said that the conventional scientist’s job description is to search for natural explanations, just as a mechanic looks for mechanical reasons why a car won’t run. Kansas State Board of Education removed the term natural explanation from their formal definition of science.
