Jaime Teevan and others report results of a study that Internet search users navigated to their information target with small, local steps using their contextual knowledge as a guide, even when they knew exactly what they were looking for in advance. This seemed to provide greater understanding of the results of their search.
I wonder if teachers see their students using small steps, or jumping as quickly as possible to an answer.
