Thread not being created for scheduled posts

Pretty sure this is a known bug/issue, just putting it out there.

Correct. Scheduled posts do not use the same mechanisms. This will never work based on the way the plugin is written. @LPH fussed with it for a long time and was told by WP developers.

Instead, tie it to the forum after scheduling by updating the WP post.

It's a hassle.
