Server 2008 Reboot rearranges workstation desktop icons - how to stop

D

We have a windows server 2008 network which when rebooted will rearrange all workstation desktops (icons). If there a method to retain the workstation desktop icon arraingements on a server reboot? Desktops are stored on server for backup purposes.

Thanks,

David

You should direct all server related issues to the server newsgroup

microsoft.public.windows.server.general

As others have pointed out, you will probably get a better response on a
server centric newsgroup or forum.

That said, you should also provide more information. now, by "windows
server 2008 network" are you merely referring to a server and it's the
various admins who login in there that get reset when the server reboots? Is
it a server that desktop users 9Win7, Vista, XP, etc...) are using for their
"home share" with "roaming profiles" where the configuration is being
changed/reset?

Information like that would make it so people can better get an idea of the
environment and hopefully provide helpful feedback.
