My neighbours wireless router has packed up. I offered my old Belkin while
she waits for the new TalkTalk one. How do I set it up? [oh so long ago]
Remember typing in the address bar some 192.168 or something. TIA

Idiot. Read the manual that came with your router. If you've lost the
manual, it's on line.

Most routers I've had used <http://192.168.1.1/>

Your question has nothing at all to do with Windows. Why don't you
check the Belkin web site? They will have online manuals for all their
products.

You reckon! Go on http://www.belkin.com/uk/ and try to get a manual for my
ten year old F5D7632.
No I'll try typing in 192.168.1.1 tomorrow - it's all flooding back to me
now.
Thanks.

Their site is poorly organized, but I did find a manual for a F5D7234-4
Version 4000 G Wireless Router:

http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/170/related/1

It's setup page is <http://192.168.2.1>. Looks like all Belkin routers
use that address.

Belkin defaul address: 192.168.2.1
Default password is to leave the PW blank.

Rename the SSID from the standard to something else.

Set security to WPA/WPA2 or at lease WEP 128 bit.

Set a PW in the System Settings page.

Allow the Belkin to save the changes at every point.
