ON 2010 and Off-Line Files

ON 2007 has issues with Off-Line Files. I was recommended through this ng
to put my notebooks in a local folder on my laptop rather than my normal
network home directory so the notebooks would not be affected by Off-Line
Files.

Does ON 2010 have this same limitation?

Thanks,

Tom

The advice was not too good, IMHO.
While it is correct that the ON-files should always be excluded from any
other synching instrument (incl. Offline Files), there is no need to
store the files *locally*.
They can pretty well be stored on a server or any other computer as long
as the storage place is excluded from
Offline Files).

No, things will be different in ON2010. A lot has been done in the
direction of "Universal Access". Pls see David Rasmussen's article
"OneNote 2010 – What’s New For You"
http://blogs.msdn.com/david_rasmussen/archive/2009/07/15/onenote-2010-what-s-new-for-you.aspx

Most of these new features have not yet been implemented. So one can not
yet test them in the 2010 beta.
