Hi!

Does anybody have any idea as to when the US English version of Microsoft
Office 2010 will be released! From its Beta version it is clear that it is an
excellent product and I am very anxiously looking forward to obtaining it as
soon as possible.

Best regards!

Theodore,

I can appreciate (and understand) your desire for Office 2010. Why so
anxious to get it "as soon as possible" ?

I'm just curious.

If you understand his desire for office 2010 why ask a question? What's the
catch here? Some of us were still using Office 2003 and only recently
moved to Office 2007. So if M$ are expecting us to move to Office 2010,
they are mistaken.

I was simply inquiring why he wanted it *now*, as soon as possible. There
is a difference between wanting something and wanting it NOW ! If he was
already using Office 2010 Beta, why is it so imperative that he have the
official release version as soon as possible ?

Catch? There is no catch. Although, asking about a catch in this
particular case is a bit paranoid. It is simply curiosity. Maybe I'm a
Psychiatrist and it is my nature to delve into peoples psyche.

Frankly, I'm not sure how your comment, "Some of us were still using Office
2003 and only recently
moved to Office 2007. So if M$ are expecting us to move to Office 2010,
they are mistaken." is relevent to my question ???

When you decided to move to Office 2007, were you shaking in your pants with
anxiety to get it immediately ? If so, why?

Sure. I had a big erection and one of my MVPs had to relieve it for me by
dipping it in her mouth. There was simply no other way.

Your curiocity was something I was concerned about. Not a panic as uch but
I remember a parody where a cat died because of the type of curiocity you
are currently taking about.

Dear friends,

First of all, I would like to express my sorrow and embarassment for the low
level to which this conversation has ended up after all the vulgarity which
has been posted out to this thread. This and any other similar sorts of
behaviour, which completely lack netiquette, damage the magic of Internet
communication and definitely belong to the realm of psychiatry where, I have
to admit, that I get out of depth as I am not a Psychiatry specialist.

I should also point out to both of you and, at the same time, call you back
to more decent behaviour, that this newsgroup is neither the right place for
practising psychiatrists nor, let alone, for making known in public the
sexual position and behaviour that helps relieve one's drives and desires but
rather an excellent place for offering and acquiring proper computer
knowledge and practice.

As for your curiocity Skiffle, I have no problem to provide an answer below
and don't forget that curiosity can sometimes indeed kill the cat but
according to Plato it can also be the beginning of science.

No matter how strange or unbelievable it may seem to you, I have been using
Microsoft Office 97 since the day it was released and for 13 years until now.
It worked fine both on my old computer running Windows 95 OSR 2 as well as on
my new computer running Windows XP Professional SP3.

However, a few days ago, I formatted my hard disk, installed Windows XP
Professional SP3 from scratch and instead of the outdated Office 97, I
downloaded and installed Microsoft Office 2010 Beta which works fine.

Unfortunately, despite all this work, there are still a few quite serious
dysfunctions in my system because of which it is technically absolutely
necessary to once again format my hard disk and set up the entire system from
scratch.

As you can therefore understand, it is not only the installed version of
Office 2010 but, I would rather say, all my system in a Beta state and, after
I repeat this tedious and time consuming process of formatting my hard disk
and installing everything again from the beginning, I do not at all like the
idea of having to install a product, like Office 2010, which is still in an
experimental Beta version undergoing tests of proper functioning and
reliability, on a system as clean and bright as a new pin that would be
working faultlessly.

For this reason, I have decided to put off this task until the official
realease of Office 2010 is available in the software market and meanwhile I
am patiently trying to somehow make do with this defective system, every now
and then devising kludges as improper ways to be able to have my job done
while anxiously awaiting the Office 2010 release as soon as possible.

In addition to the above, a second and more important reason is that
Microsoft has refused to offer phone technical support to me for the Beta
version of Office 2010 and this support is really invaluable to me as it has
so far, quickly and easily, solved several complicated problems with regard
to various Microsoft products on my system and answered all my questions so
providing very useful guidance and advice to me.

I hope that the above explanations answer your enquiry and satisfy your
curiocity Skiffle.

Hi, Theodore,

I have no idea what thread you're referring to (though it sounds nasty), but
if you want information about Office 2010, try posting to the beta forum
here:

Hope that helps.

Thanks Susan! I wasn't aware of the existence of the Microsoft Office 2010
Beta forums and I have already posted to them.

As for thread, I am referring to the thread in this conversation. Just have
a look at what Skiffle and 20100205 have written and you will understand what
I am talking about in my reply to them.

All the best!
