AnandTech praises Lollipop, Android 5, as an advance in look and feel as well as features. After all, some updates are incremental, and the past updates to Android have been incremental. However, Lollipop adds enough features to be labeled as an advance as well as provides a fresh and interesting new interface.
Lollipop is given the major version number of 5.0, and it’s quite fitting as it’s arguably the biggest advancement to Android in a long time.
Just one note about the review. I was a little perplexed regarding the comparison of Lollipop and iOS 7. Uhm. Did the reviewer not know about Apple iOS 8?
