Development of XenWord is ongoing and errors do creep into different versions but the latest version is stable. However, most of the errors being reported are due to the theme, another plugin, or the server.
Errors Seen On Activation
Activation of the XenWord plugin may bring out issues with other plugins: A theme deprecation notice , another plugin is using deprecated calls, or a server is being overly taxed and the MySQL dies. All errors will be written to the browser so they may be fixed. These errors are NOT due to the plugin but were simply hidden prior to the plugin. Fixing these errors is outside the scope of the plugin support, however, I will do my best to help. As always, you are free to contact me here or on the support site.
Themes
ThemeForest
Any theme from ThemeForest should be purchased and used with caution. Read all support comments prior to purchasing the theme. Many themes use poor coding practices or are very old – even the most popular ones have trouble. Make sure that the author is supporting the theme. I cannot rewrite the theme for you.
Other Plugins
Strict Standards
Strict Standards errors from other plugins have been reported after the activation of XenWord. The error message will tell you which file and line number is causing the problem. You should contact the developer of the theme or plugin. As a temporary measure you may add a line to the .htaccess file in the root of the website.
One of the first points of troubleshooting is to deactivate all other WordPress plugins and XenForo add-ons. This will help you isolate any problems. Once working, activate each add-on one at a time.
Server Issues
mbstring
Installation of the Multibyte String extension is required.
Shared Servers
This plugin has been installed on small sites residing on shared servers, however, if another site uses the resources then you will have errors. Read any error messages carefully. A MySQL has gone away is an issue with your server. Please contact your hosting company. There are also very talented server administrators on the XenForo website who might be able to help.
