A Disney World monorail stopped working Sunday. Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler said there were thunderstorms around Walt Disney World resort when the elevated train stopped. The cause of the power outage wasn’t immediately known, she said.
Wahler says the outage affected just one Monorail line and other lines kept functioning normally.
Firefighters waited to see if Disney cast members could get the monorail re-energized but finally decided to assist with getting the passengers off the train. Firefighters used a platform truck and an aerial ladder to help get the guests down. The process took about an hour.
