The Newspaper theme for WordPress is very versatile, however, by default the header text option only shows the blog title. Modifying the logo-text.php file added the ability to show the category name at the top of posts and pages. The pages show the title of the parent page.
The featured image in this post shows the category name for the Penguin Flight Log.
