Unboxing of an ASUS R2H UMPC

Josh Bancroft records the unboxing and first use of an ASUS R2H UMPC.

The video is 34 minutes long so it has lots of good information.

Two of the features I like in the R2H are its built-in webcam and GPS. I tried using a GPS on a dongle connected to my UMPC (running Streets and Trips 2006) in the car on a long excursion and the experience was a little frustrating. It’s not too easy to navigate through Streets and Trips on the screen and the GPS kept dropping out. I’d have to hunt around to place it in various parts of the car to find the best GPS reception. It was also definitely a drag to have the cord running from the USB on the UMPC to the GPS head. I wonder how the GPS unit built into the RH2 will work out.

Likewise, I’m a big user of IM and I’m very curious to see how well the webcam works on the R2H. How well does it work in low light? What if you walk around with the R2H while you’re using the webcam? Do you typically get lots of bluring when indoors? And is the camera usable outside?
